Nest Deli in Cape Town

"We had lunch here a few ago on a glorious Friday afternoon, one of those perfect winter days. Good is well-presented and tasty, but my quinoa and chickpea salad came minus the chickpeas! I was distracted with all the chatter and only realised halfway through when my friend enquired how my salad was. I was offered a discount of 20% which I didn’t think went far enough, however, the manager was most apologetic and did offer me half portion to take home instead. Beautiful setting, I’ll definitely be back."

"An absolutely delightful venue, among a choice on site, with gorgeous views, the right amount of shade, good service and relaxed atmosphere. Iced coffee was delicious and then I enjoyed the devilled chicken livers as a treat. The pasta portion was also generous and they happily boxed up leftovers to take home."

"The Uitsig wine estate in Tokai has at least 8 different food establishments. On this visit I chose The Nest as it was busy but not flooded and the atmosphere was calm. You must know that you will be paying in the higher end for any outlet at Uitsig and The Nest is no exception there. R180 for a salad. R190 for a burger but that’s the price you have to pay anywhere in Cape Town for comfortable dining. My chicken burger was perfection. A full chicken breast, just the right amount of basting (which is always as issue elsewhere). And the perfect amount of fries. The gentleman greeting me was a great touch with his honest energy and enthusiasm. They validated my parking (Uitsig is the only wine farm I have ever been to that charges you for parking so check with your restaurant if they validate). I enjoyed a wonder around the perfect rose garden with my Kirsten’s Kick Ass Ice-cream for desert. I’ve already booked at The Nest for tomorrow’s lunch before the NY madness begins. Certainly give them a try if you can."

"We loved Nest Deli. We had a very warm welcome in beautiful surroundings. Great service and yummy breakfast. We were able to chat and catchup with a friend in an amazing atmosphere and take a walk in the beautiful gardens surrounding them. Close by is a fantastic bike track where you can use your own bicycle or rent one to get your exercise fix. Absolutely amazing !"

"LOVE this spot nestled in Uitsig. We found a nice sunny table on the deck, sheltered from the wind and enjoy personal, first rate service from both our waiter and management. Very cool clientele there too - chilled, relaxed vibe - perfect for Sunday brunch. Our brunch started at 11am and ended at about 3pm because we were enjoying ourselves so much! Ooh - that champagne and orange juice combo is wicked…."
